Cyber Crime Police Station

Sri R.P.Thakur, IPS, Director General of Police, Andhra Pradesh inaugurated Cyber Crime Police Station in Vijaywada City on 09-08-2018.  This is the first Cyber Crime Police Station in the state.

The Cyber Crime police station will be addressing problems such as banking frauds and online crimes and also crimes which are being done using technology. Even acts of sexual harassment or abuse, done via social media, like creating fake social media accounts will come under its purview.

Victims of financial cyber frauds and crimes can hereafter walk straight into the Cyber Crime Police Station (CCPS) and lodge a complaint without having to visit the local police stations in the limits of city police commissionerate.

The station located close to the office of the Commissioner of Police functions like a Law & Order police station and will receive complaints from victims and register First Information Reports before investigating the cases.

The station headed by Inspector K. Srinivas Rao will have specially recruited and trained police personnel with an engineering background.
