INTERCEPTOR VEHICLES

Sri R.P. Thakur, IPS, Director General of Police, AP flagged off 12 “modern interceptor vehicles”  from KS Vyas Complex on 09.08.2018 aimed at improving visible policing, quick response and to reduce road accidents, which will man 12 key junctions  in the city. These vehicles will be available for 24 hours and people can approach these interceptors at any point of time, in case of a problem.

The interceptor vehicles will be stationed at 12 locations across the city and will be monitored from the Police Control Room which will be under the supervision of an inspector round-the-clock to tackle planned and unplanned situations like dharnas, rallies and agitations.

Each interceptor vehicle will be equipped with breath analyser, digital camera, GPS device, bulletproof jacket, body protector, helmet, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, VHF set, rope, dragon light, traffic cone and cordon tape bundle etc.

Each interceptor will be manned by two armed reserve constables, a civil constable and a driver.
